Your Go-To Guide: Aire® & Incontinence FAQs
How common is incontinence?
Incontinence affects over 400 million people worldwide and up to 30% of adults in Singapore. It is a common medical condition that can be effectively managed with the right products and lifestyle changes.
How are adult diapers different from sanitary napkins?
Sanitary napkins are designed for menstrual flow, which is thicker and less frequent. Adult diapers, on the other hand, are built for urine leakage — which can be sudden and larger in volume. Aire Pull-up Pants and Tape Diapers provide higher absorbency, odor control, and leak protection that sanitary pads cannot.
Does incontinence affect men and women differently?
Women are more likely to experience stress incontinence due to pregnancy, childbirth, or menopause, while men may experience leakage related to prostate issues, surgery, or aging. That’s why Aire diapers and pull-up pants are unisex, designed to provide a comfortable, body-hugging fit and reliable protection for both men and women, no matter the cause.
What are the types of incontinence?
- Stress Incontinence – leakage during coughing, sneezing, or lifting.
- Urge Incontinence – sudden, strong urge to urinate with little warning.
- Mixed Incontinence – a combination of stress and urge.
- Overflow Incontinence – frequent dribbling due to incomplete bladder emptying.
How should I care for skin after using adult diapers?
Clean skin gently after every change with wipes or mild soap and water. Apply a barrier cream to prevent rashes and irritation from moisture.
Can adult diapers be used for fecal incontinence?
Yes. Aire diapers can contain both urine and fecal matter. However, they should be changed immediately after soiling from fecal incontinence to prevent infection, odor, and skin irritation.
Can exercises help with incontinence?
Yes. Pelvic floor (Kegel) exercises and bladder training can strengthen muscles and reduce leakage over time. You can learn more in our Aire Blog.
Where is Aire from?
Aire is a homegrown Singapore brand with over 25 years of R&D, trusted by thousands of customers and caregivers.
Are Aire products safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. All Aire products are latex-free, fragrance-free, and lotion-free to prevent irritation, making them suitable for sensitive skin.
What’s the difference between Aire® Adult Pull-up Pants and Aire® Ultra Protection Pull-up Pants?
Aire® Adult Pull-up Pants are designed for moderate incontinence, holding up to 1L. They’re ideal for daily wear, discreet comfort, and active lifestyles. Aire® Ultra Protection Pull-up Pants, on the other hand, provide higher absorbency (up to 2L) for moderate-to-heavy needs and longer protection.
When should I use Aire® Ultra Protection Tape Diapers instead of Pull-up Pants?
Aire® Ultra Protection Tape Diapers are best for heavy incontinence, overnight use, or when mobility is limited. They offer secure side tapes, cotton-soft comfort, and maximum absorbency (2L+), making them reliable for extended wear.
Which range is best for overnight protection?
Both Aire® Ultra Protection Pull-up Pants and Aire® Ultra Protection Tape Diapers are excellent for overnight use. Aire® Ultra Protection Pull-up Pants work well for those who prefer independence and mobility, while Aire® Ultra Protection Tape Diapers are better for caregivers or when extra security is needed.
Can I wear Aire® Pull-up Pants during the day?
Yes! Both Aire® Adult Pull-up Pants and Aire® Ultra Protection Pull-up Pants are discreet, comfortable, and designed for everyday wear, whether you’re at home, at work, or on the go.
How do I choose the right Aire® product for me or my loved one?
- Aire® Adult Pull-up Pants → Moderate incontinence, daily use, independence.
- Aire® Ultra Protection Pull-up Pants → Moderate-to-heavy incontinence, longer wear, day or night.
- Aire® Ultra Protection Tape Diapers → Heavy incontinence, overnight, or when assistance is needed.
What does +2L absorbency mean in real use?
Each diaper/pull-up pant can hold more than 2 litres of liquid, making it suitable for heavy leakage and overnight protection. Most users can stay dry and comfortable through the night without needing a change.
How do I choose the correct size?
Measure the waist and match it to our size charts.
For Aire® Ultra Protection Tape Diapers:
- S/M: 22–36" (55–91 cm)
- L: 34–46" (89–117 cm)
- XL: 44–64" (111–164 cm)
For Aire® Ultra Protection Pull-up pants and Aire® Adult Pull-up pants:
- S/M: 26–34" (66–86 cm)
- L: 34–44" (89–112 cm)
- XL: 45–63" (114–163 cm)
If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up for comfort.
How are Aire® Ultra Protection Pull-up Pants different from the standard range?
Absorbency: Aire® Ultra Protection Pull-up Pants holds 2L+, Aire® Adult Pull-up Pants holds up to 1L.
Protection: Aire® Ultra Protection Pull-up Pants has dual-core design for front & back absorption.
Use Case: Aire® Ultra Protection Pull-up Pants is better for heavy leakage/overnight; Aire® Adult Pull-up Pants is best for moderate, daytime use.
How do I wear and remove Aire® Pull-up pants?
Wear like underwear, remove easily by tearing the side seams.
For Aire® Ultra Protection Tape Diapers, can I adjust the magic tape / reseal it after wearing?
Yes. The adjustable magic tape can be refastened multiple times, allowing for a snug, customized fit and easier changes for caregivers.
Is the diaper comfortable for hot / humid climates like Singapore?
Yes, both our diapers & pull-up pants are specially designed for tropical climates. Aire® Ultra Protection tape diapers have a fully breathable, cloth-like backsheet which allows airflow to reduce heat and moisture buildup, helping to prevent rashes and irritation; while Aire® Pull-up Pants are designed with fully breathable, cottony-soft materials that allow airflow and reduce heat build-up.
How many pieces are in a pack / in a carton deal?
Each standard pack contains either 10 (Aire® Adult Pull-up Pants) or 12 (Aire® Ultra Protection Pull-up Pants) pieces. For greater value, we also offer carton deals (e.g., 6×10pcs or 8×12pcs) which are convenient for regular users and caregivers. Visit the “Carton Deals” page to view all offers.
